Myths and prejudices associated with APTOS thread lifting
Face lifting and body reinforcement with APTOS threads is one of the most advanced non-surgical correction technologies that meet the modern requirements and needs of patients. APTOS products have been used successfully for more than 20 years all over the world. This is a safe and effective method that allows to eliminate moderate age changes and skin defects. But today there are a lot of prejudices associated with the APTOS thread-lifting.
The basic myths about APTOS thread rejuvenation
Myth 1. After the procedure, ALWAYS manifest large bruises and swelling.
Reality: Any intervention, including minimally invasive, provokes the formation of a slight swelling, in some cases it may be possible to develop small bruises, but all of this quickly disappear. Significant hematomas can appear only in rare cases due to massive damage of small vessels with an incorrect procedure or with the characteristics of the patient's body.
Myth 2. Correction with threads restricts facial expressions.
Reality: APTOS products do not contain botulinum toxin or other substances that affect the mobility of the musculature. The technology of thread introduction also excludes even the minimal possibility of limiting the activity of the facial muscles, except during the rehabilitation period, during which it is recommended to abstain from active facial expression as much as possible in order to avoid disruption of the threads and loss of lifting result.
Myth 3. After the time elapses, the threads need to be extracted.
Reality: There are two main varieties of APTOS threads: absorbable and non-absorbable. Based on the name, the first ones dissolve and completely removed from the body on their own approximately one year after the introduction, while the lifting effect lasts up to three years, depending on the patient's physiological characteristics, lifestyle and compliance recommendations during the rehabilitation period. The action of non-absorbable threads lasts for a longer period (up to five years), but they do not require extraction even after the end of their action. Exceptions are individual cases according the request of the patient.
Myth 4. The thread lifting prevents the traditional plastic surgery.
Reality: The presence of APTOS threads is not a contraindication to surgical interventions, as well as any other cosmetic procedures in the field of their administration. However, before carrying out any medical manipulations, it is absolutely necessary to warn the doctor about the previous procedure of thread lifting.
Myth 5. After the introduction of threads on the face skin irregularities or mumps may appear.
Reality: Within a few days after the lifting, small hematomas, irregularities, slight asymmetry and swelling may occur. However, such symptoms are not a cause for concern and will completely disappear within 1-2 weeks. If these symptoms persist for more than 3 weeks, it is recommended to consult with the doctor who carried out the procedure to resolve them.
Myth 6. The contours of the threads under the skin will be visible.
Reality: The appearance of the thread relief on the surface of the tissues is a consequence of incorrect introduction of material. With the correct introduction, installation of threads is made in the skin to a depth of 3-5 mm, which excludes the possibility of their contouring and other negative consequences.
